Ann Craven is known for painting the same thing multiple times. She’s painted the moon thousands of times, a kind of diary of where she’s been.

Everywhere we go, so goes the moon, a glowing companion.

(I also recommend the Arnold Lobel story for kids, “Owl and the Moon”. Owl observes the moon over the sea, wishing it goodnight and to stay where it is, because it’s so lovely. But as the owl heads home, the moon follows, keeping him from loneliness.)
